Below were some updates on Fred during his last week.

Status 11/19/2008 - Our Husband, Father, Brother, Friend, Priest, Grandfather, Counselor, ……..and so much more, passed on this afternoon at 4:00PM. It was a very beautiful and loving passing where Diane (Ditti) was sitting at his side, holding his head and whispering into his ear at his time of passing. In the last two years Fred would often ask when his nurse, Joann would be stopping by as he would patiently and sometimes impatiently wait for her to show up so he could ask questions, flirt and inquire about his status. This afternoon, Joann stopped by to make sure the family and Fred were all holding up. Soon after she arrived you could see Fred starting to let go. Diane sat on one side and Joann on the other, and Diane was able to fulfill his final request. She was holding him in her arms and speaking what Fred would have considered the name of God into his ear as he took his final breaths. It was a beautiful experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better and more peaceful passing. In the following days we will send information on his services. Please pass the word and we will be sure everyone is updated as soon as we know more. We love you Dad and thank you for being the best father and husband anyone could ask for. You are always with us!!!!!

Status 11/19/2008 - Fred is still chugging along. He can't be any closer now. He is fully comatose and very very shallow breaths. Keep him in your thoughts for an easy transition. We are all hoping for an easy transition sometime today so he can move on and leave his tired body. We will update as things change.

Status 11/18/2008 - It seems we are minutes or hours away from Fred leaving. He is in a comatose state and getting very close now. He is still comfortable and relaxed with his family by his side. In a sense we are all amazed he hasn’t let go yet. I think those of you that know Fred, this is probably one of his jokes, letting us know he can hang in there and push all expectations, yet again. We all feel grateful for the way things are progressing. Dads request was that he pass peacefully and gracefully with his family by his side. It seems his wishes are being granted. Most of you already know that hospice has been helping for the last two years and we are grateful for their help and for all the wonderful friendships we have made with our hospice family. We will update when things change.

Status 11/16-17/2008 - Our immediate family, Diane, Kevin, David, Mireya, Judy and David Feasby all spent time with Fred on Sunday morning and afternoon. It was a very special time for our family. We were all able to talk to Fred and let him know how much we love him. It was a very special time as a family. I know we are all ready for him to move on and he seems ready as well. We will be meeting with hospice today to ensure he is comfortable and to see if there is anything else we can do to help. We ask all of you to continue with your prayers. As we know and accept it is time for Fred's body to leave, let's all ask for an easy, peacful and graceful transition. We will update again soon.

Status 11/15/2008 - Fred is still hanging in there. He slept most of the day and early this afternoon asked for a little ice cream and some soup. he ate very little, just a bite or two. He asked for Diane and you could see him mouthing "I love you" even though he couldn't fully say it. I asked if he was comfortable and he said yes, "you are doing a great job son". He is sleeping again and seems very peaceful, relaxed and ready. Now it's up to the divine on when he leaves his body.

Status: 11/14/2008 - Hospice feels that he is nearing the final days. There is some expectation that he may leave before Monday of next week. He is very peaceful and relaxed. He often asks about friends and family and wants everyone to know he is ready and loves everyone. He keeps a picture of Baba next to him at all times. We will update as soon as any changes take place.
